Dr. Deep is on a mission is to help those who don’t make it to his office. He is the Founder & Curator of SoulHouse. Since 2009, while Founding Imagine Health Films, he observed that doctors don’t reach everyone and also noticed what does: songs, artists, sports... With a healthcare team masterful in securing NIH grants with NYU School of Medicine for funding entertainment production and the evaluation of their public health impact, he charged a magnet for attracting an entertainment collective of Oscar-Emmy-Clio winning creative professionals interested in contributing their talents to helping others live better. He Founded the Affinity Play Research & Development Fund while serving as the Chief Innovation & Medical Officer at The Child Center of NY and NYU School of Medicine to support an expanding collective of world-class, clinical and creative leaders. With his clinical background, he's been honing his speciality in Play Therapy & helping set the standard in Public Health Entertainment for 15+ years as a practicing, Triple Board Program: Pediatrician, Child & Adult Psychiatrist from the Mount Sinai Hospital. As the 1st Physician on the Creative Council, Advisory Council, he helps support "the gold standard of support for artists” with $55 million in awards to 955 artists, winning 160 Guggenheim Fellowships, 21 MacArthur “Genius” Fellowships, and 3 Academy Awards since 1999. Previously, he's served as Chair, American Psychiatric Association Foundation Chair, United States Substance & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Grant Awards & Fellowship Committee for the countries top Medical Student/Resident/Fellows (MSRF) & Early Career Psychiatrists (ECP) Regularly, he serves as Expert/Consultant & Speaker for the news, leading University Medical Centers, i.e. Grand Rounds, conferences, i.e. American Psychiatric Association, and a published physician-researcher in leading scientific journals including JAMA, Cerebral Cortex, and the American Association of Medical Colleges.
